Welcome to "Amber Sealed" – a bi-weekly newsletter that explores art pieces, installations, creative products, artifacts, concepts, performing arts, or other things that inspire me personally.

I believe that life is not measured in time. Instead, it's measured in moments. In my newsletter, I hope to share moments that deeply inspire and touch me, offering you inspiration for living an artistic and cultured lifestyle.

Who is behind Amber Sealed?

My background is as diverse as the topics I cover – I studied music and computer science, am bilingual in English and Chinese, and worked as a sales strategist at an investment bank in NYC. I quit to become a full-time entrepreneur in the data product field (just imagine I’m doing Excel). I'm an amateur pianist, and my top three composers are Ravel, Scriabin, and Brahms (the ranking probably swaps way too often, but that's not important).

And why do I write this newsletter?

I like challenging myself to reflect upon the concept of “aesthetics” — what truly makes something beautiful. I find inspiration in various forms, whether it be sensory, like captivating art pieces, or intellectual, such as concepts or ideas that open the door to a whole new world. However, I always like to approach the concept of aesthetics from interdisciplinary angles. I realize that our perception of beauty is often influenced by so many aspects, be it sensory, scientific, cultural, psychological, emotional, ethical, mathematical, commercial, sociological…

But of course, it's often beautiful simply because it captures my eyes, pains my heart, or gets my adrenaline pumping.

I wish to entertain you with the works, ideas, and creative endeavors that inspire me personally and go beyond the fleeting trends.

What can you expect?

I am mostly based in China, so I am ready to bring you an array of gift ideas, design inspirations, practices for a well-balanced lifestyle, craft tutorials, artist and creative project spotlights, literature, poems, and more—all inspired by oriental culture and unique creativity you won’t find elsewhere.

If you are an artist or designer, you will probably find some inspiration and new ideas, whether it be a color palette, a design pattern, or a different perspective on the concept of "beauty".

If you are a working professional, I hope you can find a place to see some stimulating ideas that can help you think outside the box.

Who doesn't like to see showcases of inspiring works and creative stuff? I believe that things that inspire us can deepen our connection to our values and passions. And I hope that reflection can lead us towards a more meaningful lifestyle, to go deeper and become more aware of ourselves and the world around us.

Pledge to support non-profits

In the age of AI and automation, human efforts and intentions matter more than ever. Human intention, not just effort, adds value to objects and experiences — they are the spirit fueling innovation in the age of AI. Our deepest connections are formed with artisan pieces crafted with love, warmth, and human creativity, where each creation whispers its own spiritual message.

I am a passionate advocate for handmade and artisanal products and all forms of creative endeavors. Every pledge and tip you contribute will be directed to local charities and nonprofits within my community, dedicated to fostering creative projects and preserving traditional craftsmanship. (I give them spotlights here :) )

Moreover, I invite you to explore my online buyer’s store, where I've curated a selection of unique crafts and gifts. These creatively distinctive items are not available on platforms like Amazon or Temu. A portion of every purchase goes to the nonprofits and charities I support.
